Terms and Conditions of Sale
Last updated: October 2026
This is a translation of the French original. In the event of a dispute, the French version prevails.
Article 1 β Purpose
These terms and conditions of sale govern the sale of surfboards and related products by SAS WORLD SHAPES through the website https://alessandropierre-surfboards.com.
Placing an order implies the buyer's unreserved acceptance of these terms.
Article 2 β Products
The products offered are surfboards built individually by Alessandro Pierre. Three types of product are available:
- Stock boards: boards available immediately in the sizes and configurations offered.
- Made-to-order boards: catalogue models built on demand in the chosen size and configuration (indicative lead time of 4 to 6 weeks).
- Custom boards: boards built to the customer's specifications (model, size, fins, finishing options).
Product photographs and descriptions are provided for guidance only. The final appearance of an individually built board may differ slightly from the images shown (colours, resin shades, wood grain).
Article 3 β Prices
Prices are shown in euros (EUR), all taxes included. SAS WORLD SHAPES reserves the right to change its prices at any time, it being understood that the price applied will be the one in force when the order is confirmed.
Delivery charges are shown separately during the ordering process and are added to the price of the products.
Promotional codes may be offered occasionally. They cannot be combined with one another, apply to the product amount excluding delivery charges, and can be neither exchanged nor refunded.
Article 4 β Orders
An order is confirmed once payment has been made in full (stock boards) or the deposit has been paid (custom boards). A confirmation email is sent to the address provided by the customer.
SAS WORLD SHAPES reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order in the event of a previous dispute, suspected fraud or inaccurate information.
Article 5 β Payment
Payment is processed through the secure Stripe platform. Accepted payment methods: bank card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), interest-free payment in 3 instalments via Klarna, and Link (Stripe's one-click payment).
Payment in 3 instalments is offered by Klarna under its own terms and subject to its approval; the seller is not party to the credit relationship between Klarna and the customer.
Custom boards and made-to-order boards are paid in full at the time of ordering. Production starts once payment has cleared.
Article 6 β Delivery
Deliveries are made throughout the European Union. Delivery times are indicative:
- Stock boards: 5 to 15 working days depending on destination.
- Made-to-order boards: 4 to 6 weeks of production, plus delivery time.
- Custom boards: 4 to 8 weeks of production, plus delivery time.
Collection at the workshop in Seignosse is available free of charge by appointment.
Article 7 β Right of withdrawal
In accordance with article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to custom boards or made-to-order boards, as these are built to the customer's specifications (model, size, tail, fins).
For stock boards, the customer has 14 days from receipt to exercise the right of withdrawal. The board must be returned in its original packaging, in perfect condition, as new: with no signs of use, no wax, no fins fitted, no scratches or dings. The cost and risk of the return are borne entirely by the customer, who must ensure packaging suitable for transporting a surfboard. In accordance with article L221-23 of the French Consumer Code, the customer is liable for any diminished value of the product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature and characteristics; any such diminution will be deducted from the refund.
Returns may be made by post or directly to the workshop in Seignosse, during opening hours and by appointment. No restocking fee is charged.
The refund is issued within a maximum of 14 days from receipt of the returned board or from proof of its dispatch, using the same payment method as the original order. SAS WORLD SHAPES does not offer exchanges: a returned board gives rise to a refund, and a new order must be placed separately.
Article 8 β Warranty
All boards are covered by the legal warranty of conformity (articles L217-4 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and the warranty against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code).
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from normal use of the product (wear, impacts, sun exposure, pressure or delamination related to surfing).
Article 9 β Liability
SAS WORLD SHAPES cannot be held liable for direct or indirect damage resulting from the use of the products sold, nor for delivery delays attributable to the carrier or to an event of force majeure.
Article 10 β Personal data
Data collected when ordering is processed in accordance with our privacy policy.
Article 11 β Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any legal action. Failing that, the courts having jurisdiction over the registered office of SAS WORLD SHAPES shall have sole jurisdiction.
In accordance with article L612-1 of the French Consumer Code, consumers may use a consumer ombudsman free of charge to resolve any dispute amicably. The contact details of the ombudsman appointed by SAS WORLD SHAPES can be obtained by writing to [email protected].
