My name is Mark Taylor, I am 18 years old and I live in Cape Town South Africa. I fell in love with surfing when I moved to Cape Town from Pretoria. In 2017 as a wide-eyed grom I met Matt Bromley and got to asking about big wave surfing. Matt lent me a big wave board and gave me some lessons, the transition was set in stone, I would become a big wave surfer. Myself, Daniel and York rose to local fame on the Cape Town big wave scene and I established myself as one of the Young Guns, a group of 3 young surfers showing skill and bravery beyond their years. I love the ocean, and have great respect for the big waves and the people who surf them, but inside me is a menacing desire to push myself as far as I can go in these challenging conditions.
